Little update

Decided to go with a T56 swap. Going to run the Magnum, wider ratio version, with a Viper spec 1st and 6th gear. Rear gear was going to be 4.10's, now jumping to 4.56's.

As for the engine bay, I've decided to try and wire tuck everything. I want to shave the engine bay as well, but seeing as I don't know how to weld, nor do I like paying for things to be done, kinda puts a dampener on that idea. Still tossing that one around.

I get to have my wisdom teeth surgery a week before Christmas, so that's going to be a hold on everything just so I can pay for it and the holidays. This hobby needs to be cheaper. Lol

Shoot man welding is not that hard to teach your self. I first learned using my dads oxy acetylene torches. You can pick up a fairly cheap wire welder and do some practicing till you get the hang of it. And any mistakes can be ground out.

If you can teach your self to build a stroker you can teach your self to weld.

Lol, for real. I looked into a welder, seems like a good starter one is about $500

You could get one a bit cheaper than that, You don't need a large one to do body work with. a small 110 mig will do great. I think I paid 275 for the one I have including regulator and co2 bottle. I don't even use the co2 much I get flux core wire, the trick is to make absolutely sure the surfaces to be welded are clean and free of all oils , grease , rust , and paint.

A good helmet helps and you can get an auto shade relatively cheap now. Cover all exposed skin because the arc will give you a nasty sunburn , and always use the helmet. Ive been know to cheat and turn my head and close my eyes lol but trust me a flash burn in the eye ***** is not a fun time . You wont even realize it till hrs after you are done welding. But it hurts to open your eye while at the same time it hurts to close them lol . Just always practice safety. Helmet , leather jacket , gloves and hat . Plenty of ventilation cause the fumes are not real healthy either lol .

If you really want to learn to weld get a small arc welder and some sticks. I prefer arc over mig my self. You don't need gas , and once you get the feel for the way the stick flows you can make some fantastic looking seams. Its a bit trickier than mig but the beads are nice.

+1^^^

I picked up a cheap Craftsman wire welder for $50 of Craiglist, just a 90 amp but like new. I haven't welded anything since welding class in tech school, 25 years ago. I forgot how fun it is, now I'm looking for things to fix. Plus they really do come in handy when you just have to tack something up or throw a bead here or there. And definitely get the autoshade helmet, old school sucks.

I paid likt 300 for mine from Northern, its gasless but with fluxcore and a clean surface it lays down a decent bead.
