Default Goal too lofty?

Hey guys, just picked up my 2015 with PP and Recaro's. Now time to mod a bit. Not doing everything at once but since I'm a newby to Ford's was kinda of looking for a roadmap. My goal is 500RWHP with bolt-ons. First is that possible or im I setting goals to high? Where should I shoot for. Not looking for big add ons like super charger or nitrous right now. Thoughts?>

you are not going to get 500 rwhp without forced induction.

Not against FI in the future. What to expect on gain with bolt-on? From all I hear there is no point in CAI unless going for the look. Long tubes, off road pipe and tune for starters. Iam guessing by what you are saying this would get me in the low 400 range? Cam , heads, TB pushing mid to upper 400. FI anything over that. Is that about right?

you're kind of on the right track. shorty headers are more or less useless since the OE exhausts are shorties.

the other thing to realize is that these engines are about at the limit for torque output from a normally-aspirated 5.0 liter engine (400 lb-ft is about all you'll get.) making more peak hp without FI through things like cams, porting, etc. means you'll be making peak HP higher in the RPM band, and you might find yourself losing low- and mid-range output.

OP not sure how much research you have done, but AM put a car on the dyno and came up with about 381 to the wheels, then with just a BAMA tune it did 402, then with a CAI it ran 412.
https://mustangforums.com/forum/5-0l...ir-intake.html

Lethal Performance ran a car and found about 29HP out of long tubes, figure another 5-8 for cat back , the cat back number is just my guess.

So all together you could figure about 450 to the wheels or 510-515 at the crank, without opening up the motor, that sounds pretty dang spanky to me for NA, and probably not losing any bottom end.

or you can do like me and set up for E85 plus the mods listed by the others and you can see a little more. NO2 is a quick fix to get you to your 500 at the wheels.
