Technically, Mobil 1 switched to different recipe for their oil. However, even with this new recipe, it is still considered a "full synthetic" motor oil. Both AMSOIL and Royal Purple use the "older" recipe (like Mobil 1 did). Despite all the back/forth, even though some folks 'think' or 'believe' the older recipe is better; it is a matter of personal opinion and decision. Mobil 1 is "still" considered a full synthetic motor oil. Just a little it of drama in the oil business?

Mobil 1 is now a base III which is not a full synthetic but more of a blend. Probably why they're being sued over their labeling by the other true full synthetic oil companies.

I used to use Mobil 1 in my Vette, but have recently switched to Liqui Moly. Good stuff but a bit pricey

I have 800 miles on my Mustang so have not changed out the oil yet. looking for a 0w/20 Liqui Moly, but can't find none offered. They have 5w/20 but I prefer a 0w since it lubes faster on startup.
