What is up with most of us tuning ( or not )11's-13's?

I did read that it really makes no difference which CAI you purchase. Question though. I like the way the Airaid uses the front factory air pick up from behind the grill. To me it seems that is where you are going to get your coolest air. Not from under the hood IMHO. What sort of gains can be gotten with that combo? Not trying to start a fight Maraman, just not sold on the whole open air filter under the hood pulling in warm air and calling it a CAI if that makes any sense. Rule #1 on a truck is to stay away from a CAI if you are wanting torque I had custom tunes on my last F150 and ran the stock air box with a Wix air filter. It would pull. Again just trying to get it all sorted out.
As you may have read, CAI's for the most part are all near the same performance wise. Besides a few minute differences (3-5 mid range TQ, or 3-5 high RPM HP) you will not be able to feel the difference. It's all in the tuning. That being said, I decided to go with looks, and I am happy with looks of the JLT.

Maybe some guys are NOT doing it because in it's stock form, the 5.0 is such a capable car. Maybe they like it so much that they're simply afraid of doing anything to it that could screw it up. I do run a BAMA tune though and have plans on building on that as time and $$$ permits.
