Not an auto but I don't break loose on 285 Hankook V12s. Good bit hotter down here though so it helps. I'd leave the gears and the intake alone for now, that torque converter and some suspension to get the 60' times down. Anyway everybody here (manual again) that later goes FI that have installed gears complain about traction and want the lower gearing. Another more drastic thought is weight reduction. Not a great option for DD cars but depends on what you use. Just strip it down for the track then put it back in if you want it. Pass through mufflers (roush, FM Outlaws, SW Retro) take 20+ pounds out. SW advertises 41 lbs. Aluminum DS, lighter wheels/tires, two piece rotors. All of those maintain a stock interior and ride quality while reducing weight.
