Shaker 1000 Upgrade Info
Hello fellow S197 Owners, I remember the first Week I drove my Mustang; I felt like the Shaker 1000 stereo system was amazing. But since then I feel I've become use to it; the more time I spend in my car the quieter my stock stereo system sounds.
So I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make the overall performance of my Shaker 1000 better.
-AMPS
-Watts
-Decimals
-Bass
Can you replace a 6 disc CD changer with an aftermarket headunit, and still hold 6 discs?
Can you replace the factory Subs, with aftermarket subs, using the same wiring?
Will replacing my stock speakers with aftermarket ones make my system louder?
Can You add an amp to a factory system?
I want to drive faster, listen to music louder. While looking better!

Short answer is you can keep the factory 6 disc changer....its built in to the head unit.
replacing the factory subs gives you small gains really. New 5x7/6x8 speakers all around does improve the sound alot
If you want more bass.....take the shaker system out of the trunk, get a new amp, rewire and put a new box in the same spot as the shaker box, crutchfield has everything you need to do all of this.

Double post!
My goal is to have a head turning stereo system. With an attitude like: I don't care if you don't like Motley Crue; your going to be listening to them anyway, because my stereo is louder! Suck it!

The first thing you can do to make a noticeable difference in sound quality is to change out your head unit.
If you are intent on keeping the 6 disc in-dash changer then Pioneer offers a few. Here's a link to one I found: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-P6000DVD.html
