Default benefits of gt40p's?

Well to make a long story short.. Buddy of mine is getting new heads and said he'd give me his gt40p's. Was never planning on touching the engine but this kinda peeked my interest. My engine is totally stock except for a/c and smog delete, electric water pump and bbk cold air intake. What would the gains be of just bolting on these heads? Would my stock intake be enough and just for sh-its and giggles what cookie cutter cam would you recommend for getting the most power outta my heap of junk? Thanks guys, appreciate it!

honestly , not a huge gain with just a swap, but match them with a good intake and cam and you'll notice the gain......heck if your gonna tear the motor down to the short block, your only a little more to a cam swap

Well since they're gonna be free I figured I might as well shop the bone yard and find the upper and lower intake to match... What cam would you recommend to match? No need in going custom since it's so mild... Never really planned on spending money on the engine but thought I'd maybe take some interest if you all thought it's worth it for the gains over stock..???

comp cams xe276hr with 1.6 rockers would match up nicely to those heads and a nice intake. Im trying to trade my cobra right now to someone that has a mostly stock one. If I get it... thats the top end combo i'll be running

So by "nice" would you consider a gt40 upper and lower intake off a '95 explorer sufficient? And didn't the 302s come stock with 1.6 rockers?

i think he was more refferencing a full roller 1.6 instead of the stamped POS stockers. pretty sure they are 1.6's to answer your question though.

Would you mind elaborating on the difference between the two? And should I assume the stockers wouldn't be sufficient? With this mild h/c/i swap would you recommend I upgrade my tb? And for curiosities sake do you guys think the gains is really worth my time and money? What kinda gains (#'s) are we talking about? Thanks guys!

sine your not looking to spend the money i would just get the gt40 intake from a boneyard, and then get some 1.7's

you will get a little bit more lift on the cam and it will be similar to a cobra motor out of a 94-95
