I have a 7.5 with an FRPP T-Lok & 3.73's and it has been working just fine for me ( I haven't gone to the track, but I do get on it ).

My gas mileage has taken a hit, but I don't drive it everyday so when I do drive it, I am alwasy getting into the boost so that is my fault

3.73 for a 7.5 isn't that bad to be honest with only 300 HP but it's recommended to have an 8.8 if it's above 300 HP. I know a lot of people are going to aggree with me on this one unless you're one of those track racer freaks. 4.10 isn't meant for the highway. 3.73 it's perfect if it's a dailydrive car.

id go with a procharger, it comes with a new intake (got me excited) and it is self contained--easier if youre a beginner
you dont have to tap the oil pan

Sorry but the procharger may be a good S/C but it is not easier than an X-Charger.

I've installed 3 X chargers so far and I'm about to do it again. It's a safe set up. You can make it run up to 400 with engine mods.

400 what? RWHP? On a 4.0L? Be prepared to show dyno charts if you are gonna make a claim like that. I agree that the X-Charger is a fairly safe set-up, but even the pre-production intercooled version wasn't close to 400 rwhp. Even with the intercooled X, I don't think aftermarket heads and cams (few choices there) will get you to 400 rwhp. Now a turbocharger can put you over 400 - several members have done it with the PowerHouse kit.

Don't want to jack the thread but, Id really like to know how this 400 is possible...what upgrades need to be accounted for for the increase in power? Can the stock engine take 400? If not what are the stocks limitations? One more question about the intercooled X, any other mods needed with that when it comes out since it will be pushing a little more than the non intercooled X?

What about the tune?
Do you install the xcharger and tow it to a dyno tuner, or can you get an xcharger tune emailed to you?

The X-charger is not capable of putting down 400rwhp without doing major engine work or dual power adders such as FI & N20. (which almost always ends in boom).

The stock engine can take up to 400, but once you start going over the 400 mark, be prepared. (heck running and FI application be prepared for the worst).

Nothing else is required to run the x-charger, but there are some good mods you should have, ie.. gears/t-lok or 8.8, alum driveshaft, tires, etc.
