Exclamation Gt500 Pump installed- Fuel Gauge error -SOLVED

Hey guys,

Managed to put on the GT500 Fuel pump. Completed th install, the car runs fine, however about 10 secs after I start the car the fuel goes to empty and I get a low fuel error followed by DTE FLI DATA ERROR. I suspect I may have connected something backwards. Anyone?

yes this has happened to a few people,
it has something to do with the connector
you modify.

Its not hooked up properly.
Back to the drawing board.
Pics would be nice of the 'modified' connector...

OK pics reverting this after noon but basically:

Stock LB/Yl lines up with New harness LBYL
Stock LG/VT lines up with New harness LG/VT

Black and pink left on the old connector and hanging.

You shouldn't have any pins left behind on the old connector.

On the new 6-pin connector:

Black wire to Pin 1
Light Blue/Yellow to Pin 2
Pink/Black to Pin 4
Light Green/Purple to Pin 5

2 whites should have come already on the new 6-pin in pin 3 and 6. You have to keep them in place or remember where they went.

Hope that helps.

My setup looks pretty much like this pic from the how to's in this forum. red and black left hanging. The only difference is that the wires from the new harness to the modified connector are the LG and LB instead of Black and pink as they seem to be in this picture.

I may have a different harness and connector then.

I may have a different harness and connector then. Did your setup come with a new fuse and relay block for the trunk?
