i dont want a shiny look to them.... its just my corners im not doing my tails

 

I used Nite Shade on mine. They look great and my tails are pretty dark. They actually werent as dull as i had expected... you CAN just tape them off and spray a coat or two, but it wont look as nice as if you sanded and polished them. I put on 4 coats and it ended up being too dark, but a little sanding did the trick. For best results, take them off, wet sand and spray, and then clear coat and polish. I didnt have a buffer either, but did them by hand just using a rubbing compond and they look great. Here is a link to both ways... take your pick, and enjoy. I'm ordering a set on the 1st when i get paid. I'm all for DIY stuff...but for only a few $$$ more, I'd rather fork it over. Paint and i don't mix that well

staggolee, go buy some acetone from your local paint shop. it will take it off with very minimal effort. then you can redo your tails.

 

cool, thanks. I've realized the biggest trick is really just keeping them clean. Once they get dirty at all it starts to mess with the finish. Hopefully a fresh coat will solve that, thanks again for the tip.

 

i was wondering if there is anyway to get the lights a little lighter then what they are when they are finished. the lights are a little to dark so how can i get it lighter.

 

jwells, wet sand with 1000 grit until they're as light as you want them, then polish them up.
