Do you need a tune for nitrous?
I have a Brenspeed JLT CAI, and someone wnts to sell me a nitrous kit. Can I just install it and be good to go? Or will I need another tune?
It's Nitrous Express if that helps at all.
Thanks guys

You should touch base with Brenspeed, but I've always read up to a 75 shot is fine with no tune. If it were me, I'd still request a new tune anyway and I'd make sure my tune is spot on in the first place by some good data-logging and whatnot.

Yeah you need a tune.
Since you already have a tune and CAI if you add nitrous you will go lean, most likely will will have to add more fuel to be safe and retard the timing. Most kits are designed to work with stock setup. If you go over 125hp shot you will need to beef up/forged internals your engine. Jet let brenspeed know you are going with nitrous.
In my 2 cents it is the best bang for the buck, the higher the setting/nozzle flow the less horspower you will gain/too much air not enough fuel. the 75hp setting will yield 75-80horsepower and lots of torque vs. 150hp shot you will see about 110hp improvement as the engine needs to by tuned to work with the added flow. The modular engines put out alot of torque with the laughing gas, more than centri supercharger but less than a turbocharger.

nitrous
let me shed some light since I use nitrous. I use the zex which is conservitive on the shots.
your ok on the 75 with a tune. after a 75 replace the plugs with a stage colder and then retard timing. No need for a nitrous tune. although it would probably yield a little more power not worth the 75 unless your track or drag racing it everyday. I retard my timing 2 degrees for the 100 shot but run the 89 tune with 91 gas. and retard 4 degrees still running the 89 tune for the zex 125 shot.

probinator is right. I ran a 75 shot zex kit with a 93 octane tune from brenspeed and never had a problem. i too called them to talk to them about it. The exact response i received from them was...
"We would never come out and say to do it cause stuff can happen, but we have run a 75 shot on a 93 octane tune on one of our cars for a while now and have had no problems."
He told me that was on the stock plugs as well. If you go over a 75 shot, pull 4 degrees of timing out of your tune for each 25hp shot higher you go and get you some colder plugs.
