Why use X or H crossover ?
OP - you could run an X or an H either for a little more power under some conditions or to affect the sound. On the V8 side, an H definitely gives a more rumbly sound and an X is clearly a bit snarly (and either will generally run slightly quieter than straight duals at idle and low rpms with any given pair of mufflers). I don't think there's anywhere near this sort of difference between an X and an H with a 6, no matter whether it's an inline-6 or V6. So you might as well go with the one that's easier to install (or more readily available).

Thanks Norm, Readily available, Hmmm, what I have now is factory pipes and an axleback boomtube on the passenger side. Laying in my floor is the boomtube off the drivers side of a GT. I think all I need is to have the pipe bender cut out the Y and run pipe to the axleback on the drivers side.
I'm just debating the X, H thing or more then likely lack of either. decisions, decisions.

Ive got Gt Takeoff mufflers from a manual.
my car sound much bettter and louder than others ive heard with gt takeoffs. BUT, i will say the idle after warm up does drop low, and isnt too loud, but under load and driving it open up beautifuly

When you have the crossover it seems like the exhaust notes run together being in one pipe, what I'm looking for is note separation from one side to the other. It should be very distinctive with the Boomtubes I have. I will try to get it on tomorrow.
I have a template, I just have to cut the bumper cover out for it.
Edit: I cut out the bumper cover and have the second Boomtube in place. Tomorrow it gets a pipe to it.

Well, It's done. I got the Y pipe removed, put in a short connector for the passenger side pipe, and a new mid pipe back and over the axle. All done at a local shop for $92.
Sounds great. Eliminated almost all drone at 65-75. Lower tone at idle and up to 2500 then it really speaks up.
I'll try to do a vid in a few days if I can borrow a camera.
