How much of a drop in mpg City and Highway did you see when going from the 3.31 to the 3.73 gears ?

I have the 3.31's and to me it seems the gearing is a little taller than necessary, but I do not want to loose mpg.

Daily driver, stick. Mostly city driving, short trips for about 400 a month but also highway about 400 miles a month in four 100 mile trips.

I drive about 50/50 highway and city miles and I lost about 1 mpg combined. But I can get much of the mpg lost back by driving a little slower on the highway. I get the same mpg driving 75 mph with the 3.73s that I got driving 80 mph with the 3.31s. Overall not a big loss.

^^^ Good to know. I want to upgrade to 3:73 from the 3:31 but 90% of my driving is highway.

i do alot of highway driving, 4.10's, $ is a rip off, i got my gears installed for $250, i bought the parts from AM. go 4.10, you won't regret them, i'd like to be in the passenger seat when you test drive it. the grin will almost be as big as when you install that supercharger. DON'T FEAR THE GEAR. and yes its worth it, best money i've spent, gears, throttle body, and procharger. havn't installed the charger yet.

Yea, with a brand new car you can skip the bearing kit and save $75.00.

FRPP 4.10 8.8 Gears $165.00
Gear Oil Synthetic $50.00
Install $250.00

Total $465.00

Do you think it's worth it? Will I really notice a a difference? I hope so cause it seems like a good bang for a little bunch of bucks.
Curious: Did the 2010 GT model come with a 3.55 gear as an option?

I believe previous model years did (05-09 ?)

I ask because your vehicle profile states 2010 GT, and that this is the 2010 forum section.

Again, just curious if the 2010 GTs came with a 3.55 (stock or option).

I bought mine off the dealer's lot which had the 3.55 as an option. After all the good info I received from this thread, I ordered 4.10's from AM and they're going in this Friday.
I'll do a post and let you all know. Thanks

Not that I live close to you, but who are you having the install done by? (e.g., a Ford Dealer, a Performance Shop, yourself, etc.)

I see that you ordered the gears from AM -- which brand did you settle on?

Sorry about all the questions, but I'm in the info gathering process myself.
