If you want to change tunes, yes. I have mine in my console.

Ok I have been doing some research, I think I am going to get the BBK CAI and the Bamachips tuner. I was just wondering if you guys think the numbers they project are realistic. According the BBK, their CAI on a stock V6 with no mods will increase HP by 20. Also on the Bamachips they claim to add about 47 HP to the V6. Are these numbers really possibly?
Thanks

Performance wise, no. The FRPP tunes are mild compared to those from the likes of Brenspeed and Bama, VMP and Evo. If you're looking for the better bang, don't get the FRPP.

I carry my tuner in the trunk. I do a lot of long distance traveling and have had more than 1 occasion when I couldn't get the 89 octane I needed and could only get 87. And one of those times was at 2 am about 800 miles from home. I loaded the custom 87 tune (which STILL kicks azz over the stock 87 tune) and was back on the road in about 4 minutes.

Unrealistic. Even on the GT, real life gains are in the 15-25 RWHP or a tad more for a bone stocker. But that's still better than the GT seeing about 5 RWHP with only a CAI. I've heard the #'s for the V6 are comparable if you extrapolate for the V6's stock crank HP.
