I had a clutch related issue a few weeks back. Car wont go into gear when the clutch is pushed in. I can drive it via powershifting. I had a friend/mechanic look at it and he said its most likely the master or slave cylinder. My question is should i replace just the cylinders or while im at it should i mind as well go clutch/flywheel as well. Also is there any other parts i would need that would be causing this issue. ??

 

yes there are a few parts you could replace just
for fun, but why buy them now before we know
what the problem is.

odds favor the master cylinder being fine, so that
leaves the slave cylinder. to get to the slave
cylinder, the transmission has to be lowered.

you can get a new slave cylinder from rockauto.com
for around $100, or you can buy direct from
ford for a little more.

 

yes true, but i figured if the transmission is being dropped, mind as well do a clutch while the work is being done.

as well do item. after the disk though,
it gets harder to say might as well do
this, or might as well do that.


i'd like you to replace everything in there,
but i also don't want you to spend the
extra money, if it might be a hardship.
