5.0L Electric Fan Conversion (Post #1)
My Friend is selling these high output 3.8L Lincoln Electric Fans on Ebay that are very desirable for the electric fan conversion on Mustangs. He installed one on his car and notice a very real gain from not having to rotate that heavy clutch fan. Check it out

RE: 5.0L Electric Fan Conversion
The myth that electric fans give you more horsepower is untrue. It robs your alternator of amps causing your engine to work just as hard to produce the amps necessary to produce the needed cooling as does a mechanical fan.

Not really, theres tons of article's in mags that time and time again prove that a electric fan does improve hp,some more or less it just all depends on the the type of fan you had previous.

also, the alternator doesnt rob power if its working at 100% capacity or 10%. the alternator output is controlled by demand but the resistance needed to spin it is the same. and fordguy is right, depending on the weather, the fan isnt always on. in summer, mine will go on 2 times at the most in a 15 minute drive. in the winter, my fan never comes on
