5.0L Bellhousing

5.0L Bellhousing
I am looking for a bellhousing for my T5 swap. I have a 94 that just got a 5.0L and unfortunately I was lied to and told that the 3.8L bellhousing could be used with the 5.0L. I know it will bolt up because of the proper bolt pattern but the starter is way off do to the smaller flywheel. Is there any remedy for this? Keep in mind I have the flywheel and brand new clutch in the 10.5in. Also if not, will this bellhousing work?

Yes that bell housing will work for the v8 , how ever that is not the only difference between the v8 trans and v6 trans. The v6 trans has a lower torque rateing. I used a v6 tranny behind my 68 302 it worked perfect up until I swapped out the stock 2.73 gears and went to 3.73 , about 4 months behind that 302 after the gear swap the trans started complaining started whining about the extra torque and started having touble getting into 1st and 2nd gears. I ended up going with a t5 out of a gt before I sold the car. If I had it to do over again I would just go and get the gt trans to start with. The v6 t5 uses weaker internals that the 5.0 gt t5.
This is my opinion but Id just skip that trans and find one that is meant to go behind the 5.0

This one is long enough for the extended input shaft? When I google the part number it says that it fits 79-95. Prior to 94 they used a different bellhousing because of the shorter input shaft. Also, the V6 T5 is the same as the 93 and prior T5 just has a slightly taller 5th gear so I should be ok and if not I'll rebuilt it. The cheapest I have been able to find a 94-95 GT T5 around me for is right around 700 so I will use this one till it blows.

That bell housing was designed for a sn95 car. If the trans is out of a sn95 v6 it should have the same length shaft as the gt. If it doesn't then you will need to swap out the input shaft on the front of the trans. Its very easy to do. Just remove the input shaft bearing retainer and the shaft will slide out new one in and replace retainer

Are tremec and T5 bellhousings interchangeable? I know summit says it will fit, but I've had problems in the past couple months where Summit says it will work but I have found otherwise. Although they could definitely be right in this case, I might get a second opinion on whether that bellhousing will work with a T5. Just my opinion

I ran a 3.8 T5 for 3yrs. Bracket raced, powershifted, launched at 5k side stepping the clutch. I miss doing that. Lol. Car made 260 at the time and went 12.60's. I thought it was a good trans, maybe I had a lucky one.
