Default Cost to clone a gt500KR

Just curious what kind of greenbacks it would cost someone to make a gt500KR clone minus changing out the motor. You would have to supercharge your 4.6 thats a given but the rest of the car you would do it right from top to bottom. Anyone tackle such a project share some light on this??

I'm glad to see that you will supercharge your V8 in the process. I don't mind clones as long as they can back up their look! We don't need entries on the Camaro forums saying that their new 2010 Camaro just beat a GT500KR!

Try the search button But there's a guy locally that did this. Look into Tru fiber for the hood, somewhere around $600 I think, the bumper has to come from Ford along with headlights, some assorted hardware and different fender wells. And the different rear spoiler, along with paint + 20" Alcoa's which I can't imagine are cheap. Good luck!

Actually the fenders are the same as the GT/V6

The front bumper requires a lot of new parts (grilles, headlights, brackets, radiator cover, etc). Right now this will cost about:

$1600 plus paint and shipping

Trufiber has the only hood that is anywhere near close. Shelby will not sell the hood.

Trufiber Venom hood:
$769 plus shipping ($150ish) and bodywork and paint

Rear bumper should be in the $300 range, plus paint

You'll need the black side skirts. Get them off someone with a V6

Shelby/Alcoa wheels are $499 each from Shelby. You need tires too.

If you get emblems you will only be able to find the Shelby lettering and not cobras, not the cobras with the additional lettering. Mustangforums.com member Cuzzo can make them for you but I don't know what he will charge.

Total:
parts ~$3800
bodywork and paint ~$1500

Aren't the fender wells the same as the v6, not the GT though? You would know more than me just what I have read.

So basicly add a supercharger and some other things like interior upgrades with a low milage GT costing 20k im looking at 32+k. Ill be in the market for a mustang this year (cross fingers)but with gt500 selling for 5k under msrp i might just go that option instead. Hmm tough call.

Ah the fender wells....

No I don't think they are the same as the V6 because they would not come down low enough. The GT and the GT500 are the same size, it's just that the bottom hole isn't lined up with the bumper. However, a self-tapping screw takes care of that easily.....it's just plastic.

*****,
I think the CF stuff is only for the Super Snake. But the real KR hood is CF (Trufiber will be offering the KR hood and also side skirts in CF soon.....not sure of the cost)

Haha I got ya. I knew it didn't take knew fenders

To the OP I would go the 500 route if it's an option, it's just more to start with honestly.

it can get very expensive real quick...trust me..LOL...the only things that I'm really missing, besides the KR motor/tranny and the wheels/tires, are the rear bumper cover and the 3.73's...
