2011 Leather Skins in a 2006
Some of us have that wonderful "deluxe" interior, comes with lots of plastic and super duper cloth seats.....oh joy!!! NOT...
Ordered some 2011 new take off leather skins from ebay. The seller shipped via UPS the same day and I had it in a week all the way to Maui. Cost was $295 shipped.....a freaking awesome deal. He also includes a hog ring tool and plenty of hog rings. Nice that I didnt have to go find those items on an island.

Tonight I did the rears and the front passenger seat. Rears are super easy. I think it took more time to take off the old crap than it did to install the new leathers. I did follow the Katskscan video on youtube. It really shows how simple this swap is.

The front seat was not hard at all. You just want to wear gloves and take your time. It all comes together quite nice. The hog rings which I have never used before were very simple to install. I didnt have a decent pair of dykes to cut the old hog rings off, but I did have a nice bolt cutter and it got the job done. Sometimes you just gotta improvise......
So finally I got them back in the car and man does that black leather look good. The old Dove interior was just plain jane garbage. A silver car with light grey interior......are you f#cking kidding me!!! Not anymore. These 2011 skins do have holes for rear headrests. Obviously my 06 doesnt have them so there is two holes in back there but you cant hardly see them. Doesnt bother me at all. There is also a little space in the top rear seats where the new cars have some extra foam in there. Again no biggie.
Here are some pics. I will post more tomorrow when I finish. I spent probably about 4 hours doing what I got done tonight. I wasnt rushing just taking my time, drinking a few beers enjoying the evening.......it was a good night.

That is a sweet upgrade! A 500% improvement over the horrible Dove cloth. Congrats... And the price is ridiculous. You've got to be kidding me. I'm not sure everyone on this forum, including myself, knows how simple and cheap it is to do this. I already have the nice black leather interior, but what a great upgrade for those who don't.

Correct. I can't believe people think its so hard. Longtubes now that was a pain, this was simple. It just takes some time and sore fingers. Gonna get back to it later today. If you havent watched that video it really shows every little detail on how to do it. That's what convinced me to buy them.

bolt cutters brilliant why didnt i think of that? my hands were sore from cutting out those stupid hog rings the for hours. but the beer does help with the pain your gonna love them wasnt hard to install at all was it kind of fun really. it really does class up your ride. now its time for some interior painting

removing the hog rings is super easy. grab them with the side cutters, give it a twist and they open up and then you just unhook them all in one motion. takes about 2 seconds per ring and no effort at all.
nice job going on the seat install. the leather is so much nicer than the cloth its sick

Got it all finished and man is it sweet. It feels like a new car and even has that new car smell!! I know they are just seat skins but the seats feel totally new. Best money I have spent on this car. For those of you that are thinking about doing this mod, just go for it. For the money it completely upgrades the interior. I spent about 7-8 hours on the install over two days. I took my time not rushing at all. Other than some sore fingers, knees and back all is good.
