3-Way Speakers or 4-Way Speakers?
Hey Guys, Let me start by saying I'm new to the world of Car Audio and I'm looking at replacing the door speakers with new 6x8s and found a brand that I like (Pioneer). My problem now is 3-Way or 4-Way? I found a site that sells both for the same price, but was just wondering if you guys thought there would be a major difference?
6x8's I'm Considering Include:
(3-Way)
Rockford Fosgate [Punch P1683C] (120W) ** From a Previous Project **
Pioneer [TS-A6871R] (240W)
(4-Way)
Pioneer [TS-A6881R] (260W)
Pioneer [TS-A6881R] (280W)
Also, I want to replace the factory 8's and keep the Shaker 500 Amp to power the new ones. I've been reading in the forums where the Pioneer Premier 8" [TS-SW841D] will not fit the factory opening without mod... Has anyone successfully installed this sub without a problem with mods?

I have never considered anything more then 2 way speakers. I would recomend going and listening to them to see if you like them or not as some do and some do not.
If you replace the door sub you will need to replace the amp with it. The factory amps do not work well with aftermarket subs do to the strange impedence the speakers are.
