Alright guys, I have no idea when it comes to this stuff.
I'm about to put a box in my car, its a 2x10" box @ 500W. I guess the subs are 250w a piece.
I would need a 2 channel 500 watt amp right?

500w might mean the RMS of the subs you can go above your RMS if you know the max power your subs can handle. I run 2 10" MTX Thunder 4500's, RMS is 225w with a max of 600w. I have a 1400w Sony Xplod amp running at 1000w RMS so both my subs are gettin 275watts over RMS. I've been on this setup for nearly a year and i havent blown a sub yet.

wow....... um....... uh....... that isn't a sealed enclosure, and it also isn't a ported enclosure, it really doesn't count as an enclosure with a leak that big...
to pick an amp correctly you would need to know the impedence and voice coil configeration. Single voice coil, dual voice coil? How many ohms?

K - whatta we got here..sounds like a prefabbed box wit some subs in it? do we know what kinda subs? yeah you could run a 2 channel 500w amp sure why not, but before you go buying anymore equipment lets know what you have fo sure..got a pic of this box? If its made outta plywood i'm a outta here n ur on ur own...lol...j/k
