I would put the carpet back in. It doesn't matter as far as the sound goes, just looks.

Honestly i would look into Elemental Designs
http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=53

I used this in a 99 cougar i used to have I put down 2 layers of this then a layer of their cheapest mat then one more layer of this stuff. Let me tell you what it was amazingly quiet in the car after that.

I am a big proponent of ED on these forums, but I have learned my lesson with Edead.

I ordered abot 70 sq feet of V1SE and it worked great on flat surfaces. In the heat the summer after I installed the edead, my doors gooped up and the deadening began to fall. I used and roller and alcohol for installation.

Look into second skin, dynamatt extreme and rammat. Edead isn't ED's best value in car audio...

I like the Dynamat Extreme, too, and got it for a steal on eBay.

It's amazing how much this cuts down on road noise and improves the sound quality of the radio. I was going to do the doors, which can really use it, but I got lazy.

How much would it take to cover the doors and the trunk? Should I just by the door kit and trunk kit? Ebay has a bulk pack for 160 which has 36 sq ft.

a bulk pack gives just enough for the doors and trunk.

This is better stuff for less, trust me. They don't waste money printing their name all over it, it is just good shtuff.......
