Hey guys,
I just bought a full system off craigslist for my 2010 and have a few questions about the best way to install it. I got 2 12" JBLs in a box, a 500/1 JL amp, a nice sony headunit and all the wiring for a little more than 300. From what I've read up on I have a few options on how to do this but i have some questions on the ups and downs of each route.

The main concerns I have are with how the stock headunit lowers base output as volume goes up and possible lack of quality if I were to use a LOC. Are either of these significant enough to effect my set up?

Also any input on how well the MTX re-q works if I wanted to keep my stock headunit to save money?

I dont want to go cheap and will spend the money on the dash mount kit or MTX re-q if it is a significant upgrade from a LOC but want to be sure its worth it. If you all were a college kid with limited funds but wants a killer system what would you guys do for an install basically?

I have it along with my base (non-shaker) stereo and it sounds great. Very loud, very clear. Obviously my setup is different (running all rockford fosgate) but I haven't noticed any issues with it at all. I'm happy with it and to be honest, LOVE the fact that the system looks completely stock to anyone snooping. Here's what I'm pushing with it (plus components)-



But as far as it being an upgrade over a regular LOC...I couldn't say. This is the first stock HU I've kept. But I'd imagine it's much better just because you can tweak it.
