Can't say I remember, I wasn't even a teenager haha. I take it diesels have taken a dive?

Oh they were awful back then. Chevy made a 6.5 l that was a major dog. Like 200 horse.

Go back a little further to the 6.2L that made 140hp. Those were awful.

Yep. Now we are triple the hp. Thank goodness. At least the non turbos sounded great with straight pipes. That was there only redeeming feature.

Yeah, that truck I posted a pic of in the What are you working on thread is my buddy's new truck. It's an F350 with a built diesel engine that they estimate is putting down 500 something HP. It's crazy how different that much power feels when you're in a a huge truck that weighs 8000 pounds.

We're both gonna hit a dyno sometime soon, so we'll have to see what it really has.
