Btw are you setting your shocks full soft or full firm in the rear for launches?
It really depends on the track. If it is a nice smooth surface and it is hooking pretty good I will go about 1.5 to 2 turns from full firm setting on the rear. That way it is a little harder to push down and will plant the tires a little better. On the front I go 2 turns from full soft usually. I tried it in the middle (4 turns) and got almost no weight transfer at all. Here's a pic of what it looks like ideally.
Thanks Steve. Would there be any noticeable benefit to disconnecting the front swaybar given I'm running street radials? Also care to explain, other than weight, the reason for removing the sway bar entirely instead of just disconnecting? Probably asking too detailed of questions for the level I'm actually racing at.
Dan I'm interested, just not sure I can swing a nothing but mustang weekend with Jessie since we're doing the cookout the day before. Let me grovel a bit. Also I went with the adjustables for autocross and if I ever make it track days. Plus I got a sweet deal on a used set, despite the peculiarities with them that Jason has found haha.

Any time you can get the nose up higher and transfer the weight to the rear wheels it will help, but unless you can really take advantage of it with sticky rear tires the benefits will be more minimal. You might see a small difference, but not a bunch on street tires. For my car the difference was about a tenth off the 60ft times with the sway bar removal and D-specs. Doesn't sound like a lot, but every tenth off the 60ft will equal .15 to .20 tenths off the ET.
As for disconnecting versus removing, there really isn't a good way to secure it once you remove the end links. It just kind of flops around, so I just yanked it. Honestly, in normal day to day driving I really can't tell any difference without it.
