Been watching roadkill again and it gets me in trouble. They have 240Z which they put a chevy 4.3 V6 and they dropped a turbo from a jy F250 Diesel. I would like to try this how hard would it be?
While a fairly stout engine, that would be a horrible choice for that car. A 90 degree v6 is inherently unbalanced. The engine bay on those cars is long enough to support a i6, so a supra or bmw engine would be a better candidate. Or find a Datsun i6 to keep it original. But if you were stuck on a cheap American engine get a ls1, same amount of work as the 4.3 to make it fit and it is balanced. Anyway anything over 300 hp in those cars will start tearing the driveline up and you'll have to stiffen the unibody.
