I'm contemplating a wrap or repaint in GHIG, but that's whipple or roush money lol.
Yeah probably.
Although if they release a 17/18 in GHIG with an 8speed+ auto this one is sold lol.
Next year is probably just gonna be a tune. I do like the thought of staying N/A, less heat soak and would love to do a CJ IM and a converter. We shall see where I am next year.
I'm working on earning a promotion and willing to transfer anywhere, so I will need to look at buying a house if/when I move.

I don't see an 8 speed auto as the greatest thing for a car. I understand ford fighting for every mpg they can get but right now the domestic manufacturers throwing 8 speeds in everything they can feels like a wow factor to compete against european cars. Given that it's an automatic it's not really gonna drive differently. Only way I see an advantage for the mustang is a very steep 1st gear so you can keep a stock rear end ratio for the.mpg and still get a good lanch. The overdrive ratio isn't going to change, they just moved the shift points so there is less of a jump.

I've had 3 6 speed autos and several 5 speeds. I did get a chance to test drive an 8 speed auto Challenger and have driven the 5 speed auto many times, night and day difference and far better. My Ram had the 8 speed auto and I enjoyed it very much, my wife's new Cherokee has a 9 speed... I haven't really driven that one much but seems fine. I think the 8 speed auto is perfect. The performance will be better as well.
At this point it's all really just talking points though because I do feel the 6r80 especially tuned performs fantastic.
They are finally refining the autos here. The old 5 speeds are 1980s and 90s tech that continued to be used because it was easy and cheap.
Now the 7 speed corvette manual is just silly.
