rear gear install recommendations
Think i've finally decided to replace my factory 3.31s with 3.55 or .73. I enjoy doing work to the car but would like someone with experience to set these up for me. Anyone have recommendations of Charlotte area installers? Would also be down for self installing if any of you have the confidence/willingness to help tackle the job. Open to hearing experiences ya'll have had with .55 vs .73s as well. Not sure how aggressive to be. Only car i own, daily driven. Not too concerned with 2-3 MPG. Just don't know what to expect from one to the other. My car is 08 5m gt. Hope to make it out to one of the gtg's soon!

The biggest problem is getting the shim right, because if you don't then you've just wasted alot of time and will have to go back to repacking everything, wiping down the gears, reapplying the gear lube to make sure the gear spacing is correct, etc. etc.
Normally i'm the one who gets to drain the nasty, foul-smelling gear oil wipe out the gear housing, pull the axle rods and refill the gear oil...
BTW Clinit...whats this group install thing you speak of!!?? I'm down!

I have been thinking I need to put the 3.73 gears in mine...Ordered the Roush exhaust and CAI yesterday, hopefully I can get put on before I head to Mustang week... the wife said my car sounded "whimpy" with the stock exhaust!!!! Boy, did I jump all over that!!! hahaha

Clint...I need to talk to Dan at pro-dyno about our April 2013 St Jude event. I think Dana(Widowmaker) is going with me. Would you like to pick a day and maybe we could all meet there for a mini GTG? Let me know so I can make sure Dan will have time to talk to me.
