Default To all Black Mustang owners

Hey all,

Just thought I would mention, I decided to wash my car this afternoon. I have noticed that it has slight imperfections in the pain, and could probably use a good swirl remove/detail/wax job. I purchased some Turtle Wax Quick Detailer for Black Cars, and wanted to say this stuff works GREAT.

Took me about 30 mins or so to do the car(even with a hurt back). Looks like I just waxed it.. turned out pretty good. Recommend trying this stuff, and it was only around $8 at Walmart.

Here are some pics:

Looks great...Black looks awesome when they are clean. I learned my lesson, earlier this year I traded my black 2010 GT for a white 2011 ... for 2 reasons ...one for the 5.0 and second to save some time cleaning the car! LOL

That looks awesome. You will have to try Adam's detailer, it is the best I have found.

Yeah, I love black cars, just not the cleaning part. I traded a White IS350 for the GT500... Loved the white.. easy to keep clean too.

Getting ready to buy some good detailing things for the car. Looking at a Porter Cable buffer, and other goodies. Have heard good things about Adam's products. The good cleaning products are NOT cheap.

No they aren't. But there are some deals out there if you look hard enough.

I have never clayed a car before. Is it a relatively pain free process? Or does it take a while?

If you do a good job it will take a couple hours. But then you have to polish and then wax. It's basically an all day job. You need to get the Porter Cable ASAP.

I used nano skin instead of clay. It seemed to work pretty good. But you have to be very careful with it.

Pain free.......absolutely not my little padawan...LOL
Seriously though give yourself at least a four hour block time to wash, dry, move car in garage, clay (IAW product instructions), and wax....unless you would also like to seal then wax..please add 1-1.5 hours.

My timeline is based on no power buffer, only elbow grease.

Ill try to plan it for a full weekend when I have one off. Looking at buffers now, and gathering my cleaning supplies. Definitely getting a foam gun
