April is going to be pretty jam packed with the 50th, other things going on etc.

I don't think i could make an April date, but whatever works best for everyone.
Maybe the TN people can chime in as to the best times to go up. We seem to have good luck with mid May and early Sept.
My concerns are March/April might cancel us out due to lingering winter conditions in the mountains, cold roads, rain, slides, road closures, etc.

May might not be any better if it rains a lot, but would probably give us more ideal weather.

May not be open in March. May seems to be busy and well as June.

How about a Fall trip to the Dragon? Before the leaves begin to change and the tourist fill up the road.
