I've had discussions with my outboard fanatic friend, he can keep them. I/o for me. Too tight of a package aND expensive parts for outboards. I've got the 3.0 mercruiser and alpha 2 drive, should do 30-35.

When is the fishing trip planned? I need to eventually pick up a boat. NC sucks for bank fishing, everywhere you go requires a boat. Most lakes ban bank fishing around here which is complete bull****.

Most lakes here are all private property around the bank. You need a boat to fish Murray anyway, 60k acre lake. Rivers you can bank fish a little around the access points, but having a canoe or kayak, even a heavy duty tube you can fish the rivers. Just have to plan your time table accordingly.

The one I had would get 60 with a stainless 4 blade Raker prop.
Personally I wouldn't recommend a stainless prop.
They don't flex and are very tough but their pros are also their cons.
If you hit ANYTHING with the prop.. Boat ramp.. Logs etc.. The prop won't give and the lower unit will take the hit.
Much rather replace an aluminum prop than a lower unit.

You should get 40-45 with the right prop.

Update.
Got the bulkheads glassed 1 layer.
1 layer on the engine compartment
And 1 layer on the stringer in the center. Gonna have to cut some filler pieces, the roll is 50" and this is about 62".
And some proof that I'm actually the one doing it.
It doesn't quite wrap around the top and leaves a bubble. Not much I can do about it. I'm thinking about getting a ziplock and using it as an icing decorating bag and filling in the gaps. Gonna try that first, then might run down to the dollar store and get a marinade injector if the bag doesn't work. My main concern is the deck sitting on top of this will crack the resin/glass since it doesn't have any compressive support. Just means it will rot prematurely instead of another 15 years from now.

Looking good!!!!! Once you get the runner in, you will put in the foam and then the floor deck? I'd like to see the pic as you do this cause I'm thinking of pulling the driver's side seat out and replacing it with a captains chair only. Gives more room for the skiers to get back in the boat and more junk room too. Only I'm not sure where/whats under the carpet. Got to be the floor deck. So if that's the case, I'll just screw it to the floor.
