Okay, there are two problems here: 1. you need to fully recover 2. you need to lose weight. There is one solution: you are in the hospital for surgery and recovery and their food sucks, so you have a great opportunity to lose weight.
Oh yes, the third problem: 3. the knucklehead who touched your piece. Solution: a good pistol whipping when you are recovered enough to catch him.
Good luck and heal quick!

Anyone who reaches for another man's weapon should be taught a lesson before they get themselves killed. What a maroon. When you get out of the hospital make sure this guy pays for his stupidity.
And always keep your safety on.
Glad you have the web while you're laid up. Hope you get out of the hospital soon.

Hope it all works out for you. Kind of a hard luck case aren't you? At least you are doing your bit to support the health care industry.
People should not be touching things they know nothing about...especially something lethal. I've handled a fair number of rifles but only held handguns twice in my life - once when my cousin taught me how to shoot his black powder pistols and once when a jeweler friend showed me the handgun he carried. In both cases the guys who knew what they were doing instructed me on what to do and how to hold them before I ever touched the weapons. In fact, the jeweler unloaded it before handing it to me. I don't know much about hand guns but I know they are lethal and I know I don't know enough to be handling them without some direct supervision.
