Default Rerouting heater hoses

I'm trying to clean up the engine compartment. The two heater hoses cross over as they connect to the heater-core in the firewall. I would like to swap the two hoses so that they will have a straight run instead of crossing. Will swapping the inlet and outlet lines have any effect on the heating/AC system or anything else for that matter?
Thanks in advance.

Consider using the heater tubes that were used on later fox bodies. They lay along the pass side of the intake.

We ran ours down behind the engine and then under the left cylinder bank, and up the front of the engine to connect.

They are all but invisible, and they are all but totally out of the way when we work on the engine.

Just takes a few feet of hose and a few 90* bends...

Cleans stuff up a lot..

i too am not a fan of heater hoses in plain sight. then i thought to myself, "i live in central california, i dont need a damn heater ffs." i then implemented what is fondly referred to as the "Mustang Loop"

i am pleased

my heater hoses don't cross over, top one to the water pump, bottom to the intake. Just cut them the right length and run them down the valvecover/intake valley.

I would say maybe I installed mine backwards... but my heater works great.

Lets see, I've received a total of seven replies to my question of swapping the inlet and outlet heater hoses.. Three were "That's Stupid", four were " Well, I did mine....". Apparently, this is not the technical forum that I though it would be so, I'm off to the cyber-world and see if I can get a straight answer to my question. Don't bother replying as I am deleting my registration to this useless forum.
