Mustang is sold

Yeah, I had my fastback there. We were over in the mods section on the far west side, basically behind the Daytona. You know, over by the wine colored 69 fastback with the 6' tall brunette in the heels and shorts

I've looked at 3 cars so far as candidates for the next project:
1948 Ford F1 Pick-up. Pretty trashed with a tired 289, new C4.: would do a cool type build, driver, perhaps cool looking old car part store logo on the door. I didn't jump on it and car sold a day after I looked at it.
1970 Mustang Fastback. new motor, disco type extras. Would make a Boss 302 clone. Car was fresh, but done horribly and not worth half his asking.
1968 Datsun Roadster, Chevy 350 / auto. There was not one usable part on the car.
....the search continues.

Greg, I have four goals.
Fun project
Fun to drive
Fits in garage
Recoup costs when sold
I use to do Falcons, in fact a factory 289 4 speed car was my daily driver for 9 years in the 80's. Mine was a 65 and the car got pretty big after that.

I know it's somewhat different but my old man bought my mom a 1959 Chevy Fleetside pickup for their anniversary about 10 years ago. It was a cool pickup, but only really that. It wasn't exactly fun to drive, it took up a good deal of the garage, and when we sold it a few years ago, we didn't recoup our costs, even after doing some work that was needed on the car.
However, I'm sure you could make a Ford F-100 fit those goals if you really wanted to, so don't let me deter you.

Cobra Roadster
I traded a nice '66 fastback for a Cobra Roadster about 5 years ago. This was the worst car decision I have ever made. The Cobra was very nice - had a stroker 351c, 5 speed, IRS, etc - and looked amazing. However, it was HOT HOT - at least 20 degrees hotter than outside temp, loud (had to wear earplugs) and completely impractical. It was really a go-cart from hell, and I always came out of it covered with sweat, shaking and with my head ringing.
The loud, fast, hot, and impractical wears out really quick.

Hey Ag,
I've done the cobra thing. This was my FFR that I sold, prior to doing the GT350 clone. Great car, owned for 9 years. It was a MKI, carbon fiber body car, with a 1993 Mustang Cobra donor.
I've added a few more cars to what I have looked at. I am still in the process of getting to a price for the convertible. I can't give out any details yet, but, suffice it to say, I would love to have this car as my garage.

Brookville
My next project (after the '57 T-Bird) is a traditional Model A Hotrod.
I have a flathead V8 and toploader trans out of a '40 - and want to build it with parts prior to 1960. Most likely will go with the Brookville body and a '32 frame, but will be a highboy (no fenders, and body on top of the frame):

Are you going to the McGregor all Ford show? I think I saw pictures of your car at their previous show. I've never been, is it a good show?
