Looks like Mr. Velocity and StillRidin and I have the same project w/ 14-15yo sons going on.
Mr. Velocity, your Red Rocket looked pretty good to me off the truck. What is this "Lizard Skin" of which you speak?
Right now ALL the parts are on garage ceiling/walls or shelves in boxes and labeled w/ extensive photos of teardown. Chassis was then out to my brother's media blasting shop (Speedway Abrasives) in Redding, Calif (I live in Austin, Tx) but he does such a great job getting it down to BEAUTIFUL shiny bare metal, it was worth it to haul it out and then back. Now it is epoxy-primered and I'm trying to find the time to get it to the body shop 1st. Then plan to undercoat and start adding suspension. Any suggestions on Restomod upgrades would be appreciated, keeping in mind I'm not going drag racing but want a good, safe, comfortable daily driver.
Thanks,
Mark
Did they blast the bottom clean? If so epoxy prime and use an epoxy bed liner like they do for pickups. Not a big fan of undercoating.

Lizard skin is a sound deadening paint, you can find it at Eastwood. Since this is going to be a daily driver I wanted to quiet things down a bit.

Thanks for the kind words on the car, we're glad people are appreciating it. I just hope my son does and understand what he's driving so he's more careful.

I have parts all over the garage, have the hood, doors, glass, fenders, seats etc sitting on the back wall of the family room.

Good point on the gun. I ended up using the gun that came with my SEM bedliner kit. I also have an undercoat gun, much the same, that I bought for spraying in the body wax. There are some posts where people made their own "lizard skin" since the real thing is rather expensive.

My next toy i build i will use lizard skin i done enough of the stick down mat type its a pain lol.The mustang don't look bad is there any rust you found yet?I would start a list of things you have to do and thinks you would like to if money and time let you.Make your self a budget so much a month you can spend and if its a big ticket thing wait a few months. On the paint and body work look on craigslist i see adds here all the time of out of work body men doing it out of there garage cheaper then most shops.

If you can swing the cash i would ditch the factory ac for http://www.classicautoair.com/?q=64_...g_Ford_AC.html its all under dash looks better.Things like front disc and roller spring perches are a must if you want to drive it daily. It all depends your budget and if you want it bone stock looking or a few upgrades.

Steps 1 - 5, just focus on that for now. Steps 6 & 7 can be painful, if I had to do it all over again I'd still send it out and have it professionally media blasted.
