Default Calling all carb experts, whatchya runnin!?!

So, I've got a 347 stroker. It's a Ford Racing crate engine, here's the link: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=9255. I'm in search for the perfect carb, I'm running a Edelbrock 1806 right now and I'm having nothing but problems. I'd like to run a Holley 650 double pumper, but I'm thinking maybe a 600? What works for you guys??

Thanks in advance!!!

i have a 306 with a with trick flow twisted wedge heads, crane came .498/.498 at 230 duration, edelbrock performer rpm intake, and a full MSD setup(coil distrib box) and i just purchased a 650 double pumper because the 600 single pump i had wasnt enough. my mechanic actually told me to either go with a 650 double, so im guessing with that, you should be running at least a 650 double.

Thanks for the info! I'm pretty sure this is the way I'll go, but I've heard all sorts of stories about the 650 being to much and the 600 being so small?? The Ford Racing site says it dyno'd the engine with a 650, but it didn't list which one...

if it says that it was dynoed with a 650 it would have to be a double pump because with a stroker motor ur going to have a high flow setup, and a 650 single pump i dont think would be enough at all... hope everything works out for u

650 DP will be fine. I'm running a 750 DP on my 351w with no problems.

I just made a trade for a Holley 3310-3, 750 with vacuum secondarys. I know it's not the ideal carb, but I traded for some old wheels I'll never use. I wonder, has anyone ran this carb? How'd it do?? I have to rebuild this one, but I'm hoping it brings some life to my engine...

I have one of those (tweaked a little from Holley specs) on my 347.
World heads, b cam, performer rpm manifold, headers, etc.... Great street carb. get the tuning kit for it and convert it to a secondary metering block instead of the non adjustable plate.

Double pumpers (when tuned correctly) will out perform a Vac secondary carb all day every day, but for street manners you can't beat a vac secondary carb. I have a 750 DP for the track(s)..... when I get back from overseas you will see my mustang on the New Jersey Motorsports track.....

do yourself a favor and just call Patrick or fill in his tech form and he will build a carb to your program .... that is what i did with my 514 ... he built me a 1005cfm carb it was right on out of box i didn't even have to tune it they are all bench tuned before sent out

I run a 670 Street Avenger on my 302 equiped with the Edlebrock RPM heads cam and intake. It might be a bit much. I jetted down the primaries from 68 to 65 and upped the secondaries from 65 to 70.
