Default 1969 Mach 1 428 Resto-mod

I'm restoring a 1969 Mach 1 428scj, I am rest-modding it and want to put in an Independent Rear Suspension also a 6 speed stick, any recommendation for the rear and trans, it will have the 428scj engine with fuel injection and aluminum heads ?

Sounds like its going to be one fun ride.

My daily driver and only car that I own is a 67 Fastback powered by a 428 Police Interceptor with aluminum heads, 2x4 intake, 5 speed Tremec and front and back coil over suspension.

I would start with Tremec for the 6 speed. I'm sure there are some others out there. Its a big bigger than my 5 speed and I don't know if you'll have to adjust the floor pan tranny hump for it to fit. Quicktime sells bell housings that will mount anything to an FE motor. I have adjustable coil over front and back and got my kit from Rod and Custom Motor Sports. Although, after looking at their web site, I don't see any individual suspension packages available. I have a set of Edlebrock Aluminum Performer RPM Cobra Jet heads (part # 60069). There are higher CFM heads out there but I like the RPMs for my street ride. Plus if I want to later on, I can port them out...they come with a lot of extra metal that you can remove to improve performance.

I assume that you will go with a MSD box style and coil ignition? Also, considering an aluminum radiator and electric fans? Be Cool makes some good radiators and fan combos.

Depends on how deep your pockets are. My next purchase will be the picture below. Its a sweet 8-stack EFI set-up from Inglese.

Post some pictures of your progress. I love FE engines! I'm interested in what your fuel injection set-up will be like.

Donor IRS from 2003/4 cobras was the ticket a while back and there was an adapter carriage available for the classics. Of course you will also need a custom driveline.

I had to change speakers on my pc to listen to the engine! I like the new 5.0s but nothing sounds and feels like a big block!!
