Question i6 to 289

I have a 68 Mustang with an I6 engine and auto tran. I want to put in a 289. What changes will I have to make?...Will the bell housing bolt up? It doesnt have power steering, but does have steering assist.

The bellhousing will not match up but since I'm sure it's a c4 they are not hard to change. But if you are planning on putting it on a v8 I would have the trans rebuilt, do it while everything is out so you don't have to do it again. Also plan on changing
Motor mounts
Trans mount
Exhaust
Throttle linkage
Radiator hoses

All the normal simple things. But sometimes can turn into the biggest pains. Good luck.

Add shocks, springs, complete rear end, spindles, wheels, brakes, new trans, driveshaft, I think that's about it.
