Talking Hard Breaks and hard clutch

I've owned a 69 mustang coupe the last five years. I redid all of the drums and shoes and bled them correctly, but the brake system light is on and feels "stiff" when Ipress hard on it. There is very little travel. Do I have a bad master cylinder? Bad or misaligned proportioning valve?

Second, unrelated issue is the clutch. I have to be carefull when releasing the cluch. It feels like I have to use more force to keep it from letting out to fast than it should. Any thoughts?

Do you have manual or lower brakes? Could be becauss of park brake switch also. Do the brakes work normal? As for the clutch, I'm guessing that you are used to a hydraulic one. The manual Can be pretty stiff.
