Default 66 Mustang

I'm new to the forum but i'm looking for some advice on the value of a car my grandfather has.
He has an original 1966 Ford Mustang GT coupe. It's a true 4-speed car with the 289 four barrel V-8 engine. He claims it also has the original pony interior tha was available at that time.
He's the original owner and says it's came with the 289 cid engine and 4 speed tranny.
Being in real good condition what would you guess a car like this would be valued at?

Thanks for any responses,
Dan

well, its hard for me to put an exact dollar figure on a car like that, but if it is infact an original GT in good shape with the originial pony interior, i would say the car is worth a pretty shiney penny.

A code 4 speed in good condition with a pony I would say 8-10K.

Given the cost of living out here, you fans are being conservative. If the rust is strictly surface, with no panels needing replaced, 10K is a steal for a GT out here. Geeez, I need to move outa this flippin state!!!!

If the car is as you describe it, is really clean and relatively rust free, you are looking at a lot more than 10k there. Try Kelly Blue Book - they still do classics there and I think you will be surprised (a primo '65 fastback GT lists at 50k now!)
