so when restoring a car...the interior is the last thing to worry about?

Yeah, if you are doing the work yourself, get the dirty stuff done. Like engine, transmission and any other parts where you will get dirty repairing them. You wouldn't want grease on your new seat covers.

I agree with everyone as to do the dirty stuff first. Dont cheep out at the end. Replace all the seat covers at the same time so that they all weather the same. If you can aford it replace the dash (if cracked) or paint it and replace the carpet aswell. Nothing looks worse than a butifull paint job and a old looking interior...
