Default Fan shroud

Quick question: How much does a fan shroud help cooling? I've got an after-market radiator (five-core, I believe), but I still have the stock, four-blade fan and no shroud. Would you guys recommend putting on a shroud, or even replacing the stock fan with a five-blade aftermarket fan? Thanks!

For safety reasons i would put on a fan shroud, but I don't think it is that important for cooling. I mean it helps speed air through the use of a vortex, but usually cars have more than they need for cooling. For a good example I put a Chevy V8 in a 6cyl. Jeep and used the stock 2 core radiator and no shroud, and it remained cool at all times. I would put one on but it is not required.

A shroud helps, but not a whole bunch. Is the car overheating?
