Visible differences between C4 C6 and FMX for 1969?
The marti report for my car shows that it came with an FMX transmission, but I was informed it was a C6 now. How can I tell so I will know for sure?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Check the faqs section
Here is a picture of a FMX trans

I could not find a picture of a c-4 or c-6
The c-6 would be bigger than the FMX.
I no mostly the c-6 were used with the big bock engines, c-4 small block, FMX came with mostly 351's

Hmm from that photo I might have an FMX I'm not sure though. Thanks for you help. And my car has a 351windsor so that's probably the reason why it came with the FMX
Thanks again for your help.

FMX trannys have a cast iron main body with bellhousings and tailshafts made of pot metal (looks similar to aluminum). The FMXs have a detachable bellhousing whereas C6's do not. Most C4s also have a detachable bellhousing. And as rwh129 pointed out, C6s were primarily used on big blocks, so it would be fairly rare to find one with a small block bellhousing pattern. BTW what motor are you running?

Thanks everyone for the help. Now I'm thinking it is a C4 because the bellhousing appears to be detachable, and the pan looks square. I just went out there and took the best pics I could with the car still being on the ground. Let me know what you all think it is.

95% sure it's an FMX because I count 13 bolts on the tray (luckly i can fit underneath there!) and it has the odd squigly thing on the back part, but wouldn't define it as an "S" shape (C6). So that leads me to believe it's an FMX. Thanks Guys!
Next question, what does the FMX have to offer? Does it work well with my 351 windsor? Please tell me whats so great about the FMX, that made it a factory option back in the 60's.
Thanks again.
