Pitman arm hitting headers

Default Pitman arm hitting headers

I noticed my pitman arm is hitting my headers on the drivers side. They are tri y headers. Anyone else have this?? Do all headers have this problem??

do you have manual steering or power? and do you have pictures? i have long tube hedders and i am far from hitting and of my steering linkage

I think I had read you need a power steering cylinder drop bracket if you have power steering and wish to add headers.

Otherwise you'll hit your headers when you steer.

yeah you need the drop bracket for the ram.

Sorry guys, I have manual steering, and its hitting the tube near the bend to go backwards. It is actually indented there from the arm hitting it.

hum never heard of one getting in the way of the pitman arm. Not sure what to suggest as a fix either being that the pitman arm and the tube are both fixed objects, its not like you can side one to a new position.

In hindsight its easy to say "shoulda bought headman ceramic coated headers" but that’s not really going to help you out much now.

Perhaps a photo would be in order here, can you take a picture for us?

check your motor mounts if they are worn out or broken the engine will sit lower and could cause this problem.
