Are the air cleaner lids the same as the 302, 351, 390?

352 - 360 - 390 = initerchangable for the most part. It's an FE ( which Ford called an intermediate block ) Design.

They're not interchangable with the 302 - 351 in anyway at all. Best way to ID an FE motor is the intake is in combination with the ports on the heads. It's suppose to flatten out the *V* and create more power. As we all know that's not the case. the FE was a unique idea on paper, however, once implimented, it flopped in bad ways.

Nope, never needed to be and never knew that Ford made a 360.. When it comes to trucks, I'm a Dodge man..

Slickman
That sounds like your not familiar with Ford trunk engines.
What?? You're not a PSD man? You must like that Cummins diesel engine that Dodge puts in their trucks.

Yea, the FE was a terrible flop, it was only produced for 18yrs. from 1958 to 1976. It took the advent of CAFE and strict emissions laws to kill it. Sure glad I don't have one of those POS 427 Cammer's.

Yeah or a crappy 428 CJ.. they are the absolute worst. Nobody in their right mind would ever want a 427 Side oiler or anything high rise, they are just too wimpy... rofl.. If you find any of those floppy engines, that are over 400ci, let me know. I need some boat anchors... Like the chevys that are in the boats now..

Give me a Duramax turbo anyway in my truck. AWESOME diesel right there.

Flopped so bad that the FE engine only won Le Mans twice....goes to show how weak Ferrari was....

Of course Carrol Shelby just wanted a really heavy lump of iron to put in his 427 Cobra. No other reason than he likes the shape of the valve covers is what I hear.. Anyone else ever read or hear about the aluminum 390 they put in a Cobra?
