Default Broken thermostat parts in motor

Hi!

I have a pink 1967 Mustang with a 289 V8 engine. Yesterday my friend replaced my thermostat and we discovered that all that remained of it was the housing. I assume the missing pieces of my thermostat are now in my motor somewhere. Does anyone have any idea how to go about finding these missing pieces and removing them before they do some serious damage? Thank you very much for your input -- I appreciate any help I can get!

Wendy

Default RE: Broken thermostat parts in motor

Most likely they eroded over time, so its likely just little specs of metal floating around in your cooling system somewhere.
