Glen, your such a liar. i think i get about 15 with my 289 2v. If i was out driving with my 66, and i saw you pammie, i might have ne compelled to race around with you, but in a fun way totally. I respect old cars..... of course i do, since i own about 5 of them. Hey, im single pammie, but i might be to young for you.
What is this? The dating game? You guys take it to a PM. No, I am not lying. That is what gas mileage I get. I don't have a lead foot like you teeny boppers though.
I get 15 with my F-150 5.8L truck on the highway pulling a full load.

If you are only getting 15 miles per gallon with that 6 banger, then you have something set up wrong. I get over 20 on the highway, and around 18 in the city with my 289 2V.
Nothing is wrong. It runs like it came off the showroom floor and I'm very well aware of why it's burning more gas since it was fixed. I'm happy as it is and 15-16 MPH is good enough for me. That's 98% city driving, too .. I rarely take the highways around here. I'd rather go the long route and take a country road.

MPG = Miles Per Gallon (Fuel Consumption)

MPH = Miles Per Hour (Speed)

When the speed limit is 55 and you drive 55, it's not being a "grandpa" it's being a responsible adult.

Drive 55 around here or in a major city and you become a slow moving hazzard... I drive between 6 and 10 over here and get passed regularly..

One thing that annoys the hell out of me though, is people who are going 45 when there is oncoming traffic. Then when there is a passing lane they speed up to around 70-75, in a 55, just so they can stay ahead of you, then once there is traffic coming and the passing lane is over, they slow back down to 45. And it is never a steady 45, its 40, 48, 35, 40, 48, 45, 30 32, 38, 45... all over the place.. so no cruise control can be used and more gas is burned from accel decel.. its just plain stupid.

The only place I dont go 5 over is Wisconsin, if they clock you at 2 over, they write you up for 10 over... dont speed in Wis...

On the highways I can see doing 55 but I rarely get on the highway. The "city" roads are all 35-40 MPH and the same with the country back roads.

I did take the highway to the body shop yesterday and had to pass a slow driver, and it was really, really nice to hit the gas to pass him and the car had "get up and go". Before the carb was adjusted I'd have sat there.

I hear ya about the 45 then 70 idiots. We have them here in central Texas too. It never seems to fail that they speed up when you can finally pass them. Well, I don't have a problem passing them in the Mach, but if they are driving a good car and hit the gas pretty hard, Ol' Yeller has to grunt to get around them. This sort of crap will drive a man to drinking. *Hicup*
