Ok, lets say you have a large cam in your engine, and it runs rough. With a stock stall convertor, you car will probably stall out at redlights, etc. With a higher stall, the engine isnt under a load at low RPM's. It also helps in performance, It gets in your RPM range better, allowing for quicker start offs, and tire burning etc.

lol, Ok, It connects between the engine and the transmission and basically acts like a clutch. It uses fluid, to turn the input shaft. Thats the automatic trannys version of the clutch. All automatic transmissions have one, in some variation or the other.

yes you need one. ALL AUTOMATIC CARS NEED ONE. YES IT HELPS, IT MAKES YOUR CAR MOVE. You have one right now. IF i was to go and take it out. You would start your car up, put it in drive, and it'll sit there. You can rev the engine all day, and it'll still sit there. Do you get it now??

You'll want a mild stall with the cam you've selected. I'd go for something around 2k rpm to preserve streetability.
