They were rated at 120 hp, which would probably equate to about 90 hp at the wheels. the Chevy 235, I6, has a little more hp and quite a bit more torque (can't pull the numbers off the top of my head), but it's also pushing a lot more steel and those trucks are hardly aerodynamic.
What can I say, I like the look of lots of classic cars/trucks, and I hate to see them fade away or get chopped up into some frankenstein creature.
my goes 0-60 in 15 seconds on a hot day down hill. i would recommend this too many times. u can make 0-60 in less if its a 45 degree hill. good luck with that
It was bugging me since I brought it up with no real numbers. The Chevy 235 was rated at 145 bhp @ 4,200 rpm (like it wouldn't fall apart before it got there) and 215 ft-lbs of torque @2400 rpm. A little more powerful than I thought.
