Yep, you threw a rod. Tear it all down and save as many parts you can, then get a new block and new parts as needed and put it all back together.. Or, get an engine like a 5.0 from a junk yard.

sticking with the 200...my old man is gonna buy it from me but only if its original...so i stuck with the I6...personally i wanted to put a 289 but i would probably end up spending more to mod the suspension and drive train than it is to get another mustang

That about right, depending on the condition of the new Mustang. I figure it will cost about 10 grand to modify a 6 banger into a good running V8. Hell, you can buy a lot of V8's for a lot less than that.

Sorry to hear about your engine blowing a rod. Nice to see you back up and in the process of running with the new I6. Good luck and remember you can always sell your original and purchase a restomod!!!

Did you pull the head to see what caused the catastrophic failure?

Glad you got it back up and running.
